Hi,
My name is Martin and I am an audio-aholic...Let's see, I first got into second shift when my dealer...er...I mean when Radio Drama Revival mentioned your show. Either that or it was a google search for modern audio drama, I can't rightly remember. Anyway, you guys are one of the best out there. Your show is truly the crack rock of audio drama, just, cheaper. I really like the dialogue and the plot twists. I like when Mike points out "Why are we always screwed?!?!?" I identify with that. I also love the ancient and time honored incantation "Work stupid magic..." Just Beautiful.
Anyway, keep up the goodwork, I am eagerly awaiting the next episode. Please hurry with the release or i might show up at your houses at 3 A.M. with the shakes, pounding on each of your doors & screaming....
ok, that was stupid.

With Ari, Brad, and I all living in the same house, your job might not be that hard these days.

Just remember not to do that on Tuesdays. Tuesday's are my night. I have a standing reservation.

Hallo,
My name is Brian, in Rock Hill, SC. I've been listening to all the episodes straight since hearing multiple advertisements on Slice of Scifi and am now in the middle of listening to How the Other Half Lives and I expect to be going crazy waiting for the next episode after hearing Conspiracy of Silence.
I love this show, the acting and sound production are phenomenal, especially for something in the podcast format, but also just in general. I might be hearing things, but the background/transitional music sounds very similar to "Epitaph of Seikilos" but I think that's just a coincidence.

I just got into it recently. I was having problems with my mp3 player so I didn't get to listen before Andrea left the state. I wish I could have told her how much I like it I also wanted to say that I really love Becky's voice. especially that she can do Shey-na's and Taylor's At first I thought Becky must have a real brother whom was doing it. But no. Don't worry, I am not a creepy stalker type. plus I live 3000 miles away. you are all awesome and I listen to second shift at work. I think I have listened maybe 3 times through. I am not so patiently waiting for more.

Hi, I'm Manu, in Seattle. I just found out about your podcast about 2 weeks ago via the promo on The Dragon Page. I love the show, it's been getting better and better IMHO. I just finished listening to second season, episode 9 on Tuesday and I'm already starting to experience withdrawal symptoms Keep it up! Cha grendi to all the cast and crew for all your work on the show. Interestingly, I have a friend who sounds almost exactly like Becki, same way of speaking and even a similar personality (to Shawna, anyway). When I heard the first episode I was actually shocked - how could she be in a cool fantasy podcast and not tell me about it? I'm looking forward to her tuning in and seeing her reaction! Best Wishes, Manu

Bui bui everyone! I'm Terrence, from Anchorage, AK. I've been listening religiously to all the Second Shift podcasts, ever since I ran into them a few days ago on Klango. I've downloaded all of them to my Icon and have even been listening to them at work when I wasn't with a client. I'm a bit of an actor myself, stage acting; in fact I just got done with a production where I had 4 different voices. You're all so lucky to still be doing radio; I think if I'd lived in the radio era I'd have sought a career as a radio voice instead of a computer instructor (though I do enjoy my work.) I totally love the Chalandrean(SP) accent you 'll have come up with. (Sorry, I've been so busy listening I fear I haven't learned the proper spellings of all the names/terms.)
Terrence, who sometimes has wished he could shift off somewhere.

Hello I found your podcast through EERIE Radio, a weekly paranormal podcast (I'm a mod for their forums). A few of the members there are big fans and directed me here last year. I listened up to the first episode of the second season and then life took hold and I didn't catch up until this past week, when I did a marathon of listening over two days! Honestly, it just keeps getting better and better, and I'm so excited to hear the rest of the season...I usually get large home projects done while listening to podcasts, and yours has been my favorite so far, but Wormwood does come in a close second So, here's to the continued restoration of my house and more interesting shows from you guys! My kids start school next week, so I hope to be taking part in the forums as well.

that was about the most boring intro thread I have ever posted. I promise to be more interesting on the forums lol.
oh, and I'm originally from Boston, Wellesley via Dorchester...eventually landing in Erie, PA. My family is still all over that area.

Welcome to the forum! When the series is done, I've promised myself that I'll listen the whole series back-to-back sometime. I'm glad you're enjoying the experience!

Is this fashionably late or just tardy? Regardless, I have been going through the archives of Sonic Society podcasts and that is how I heard the first two episodes of Second Shift. It caught my ear slowly at first then more so in the second episode, and when Shauna got her answer at Draenmer I was totally hooked. So I've now consumed every episode in less than two weeks and man do I need another fix. 2.10 left me on a knife's edge. Although not so much as the seemingly huge gap of episodes without Shauna. I've really enjoyed her story. Thanks to that scene, things like stupid magic and just how natural the character sounds quickly made her one of my favourites (no doubt as intended). In fact, the whole cast do a great job. I listen to a fair few audio plays online and I think this is one of the best casts out there. Really gel together well. Back to characters, whilst listening through the series I found myself more and more warming to Jareth, quite unexpectedly. Now he's another favourite. I love his earnestness, and when he goes on the warpath. Also, it was sad to hear Andrew leaving the cast, partly as he was great but also because I can be a bit prickly with actor changes. However, new Fesmer (sorry forgot the name) is just as good and took no getting used to. Although the change seems to have gone to his head what with the crazed speeches and all. And I love the winged herald. Particularly how it's not overused and the language always feels as though there's a revelation just around the corner (whether we see it or not). The opening in 1.12 was a great moment. Tingley stuff. As was the first season ending, it felt strangely satisfying despite being so open ended. Hearing the clarity in Shauna's voice/thinking as she sent the others back really struck me. Had to play both those scenes back a couple of times. I could go on saying good things about everybody, but maybe another time. Simply thought it worth showing some appreciation for the show. I'm eager for more, and just knowing that most of the dialogue for the rest is recorded is such a tease!

Thank you so much for the kind words, it means a lot to know that people care about the story we're telling. If you like, you can subscribe to this topic to get production updates as they happen. We've got a lot of cool stuff in store, and after some setbacks I'm finally back to making progress on 2.11.

Hi everyone! I found Second Shift during a search for podcasts and audioplays out of boredom...and I can honestly say I am GLAD! I've listened to quite a few over the holiday, but have been addicted to this one. I have listened to every episode except the latest in a period of a few days, and am left screaming for more! Being in my early 40's, the story to me is reminiscent of the old books I read as a kid, like the Guardians of the Flame series by Joel Rosenberg, and Andre Norton's "Quag Keep"....and yeah, a little of the old Dungeons and Dragons animated series I had to become a member just so I can tell you all what a wonderful job you are doing, and I will be waiting impatiently for the next installments. I DO know how difficult it is, and how much work, as it is not totally unlike trying to produce music with a program like Acid, coming up with loops and sounds that work together, maintaining proper volumes, deciding on what approach to take, either all-out or minimalistic.... and then assembling it all...not to mention mastering! I think this crew has done a fantastic job! I know eventually all good things come to an end, but this is one ongoing series I wouldn't mind seeing go into many seasons.... heck, Dr Who did, among others! I only have one question, as I am new here.... Is there a post or pdf anywhere of the language and customs of this world? If not, I'd like to suggest a "guide" might not be a bad thing for you to produce on the side! This world has been fairly well developed for only 2 seasons, and if enough people got hooked, it could really have a major cult following, at least in my own opinion....

Thanks for the wonderful words, Wolfenspiel! Creating some kind of a dictionary has been on our TODO list for years. Hopefully it's something we'll get to once the show is finished. We also have a wiki, where we invite listeners to maintain notes and whatnot, but it never really took off. Thanks again for taking the time to provide feedback. It's always great to hear about new people getting into what we're doing!
